INTEGRATED INTO WALL – FLUSH-MOUNT – SURFACE-MOUNT

INSTALLATION TYPES

There are several ways to install a comfort ventilation unit. The surface-mount version is ideal for retrospective installation and renovations, while the flush-mount version and the virtually invisible integrated into wall installation (U2) are ideal for new builds and renovations. Ductwork connections can be implemented for all installation methods.

INTEGRATED INTO WALL U²

In this version, the units are completely concealed in the wall; only the elegant cover remains visible. For extraction and supply, ductwork is used to draw extract air from neighbouring rooms (e.g. bathroom, WC), which is then freely and flexibly supplied to the room in question (e.g. living room). This method offers a great deal of technical and aesthetic design freedom!

For installation, you need, for example, the following installation kit: M-WRG-II M-U²

FLUSH-MOUNT VERSION WITH DUCTWORK CONNECTION

With the flush-mount version, the ventilation unit is largely concealed in the wall. Only the unit cover (approx. 58 mm thick) is visible on the wall. Particularly in combination with with a ductwork connection, this version is a cost-effective alternative to integrated into wall U2 installation. Depending on the project, the low installation depth can be an advantage.

For installation, you need, for example, the following installation kit: M-WRG-II M or M-WRG-II M/MB

FLUSH-MOUNT VERSION

With the flush-mount version, the ventilation unit is largely concealed in the wall. Only the unit cover (approx. 60 mm thick) is visible on the wall. Depending on the project, the low installation depth can be an advantage.

For installation, you need, for example, the following installation kit: M-WRG-II M or M-WRG-II M/MB

SURFACE-MOUNT VERSION

The surface-mount version is ideal for retrospective installations and renovations. Thanks to the low-effort installation (two 120 mm tap holes and a 230 V connection), the ventilation unit can be retrofitted. These units provide good ventilation with high heat recovery.

This type of installation does not require a wall sleeve. The ventilation unit is installed directly on the wall.

Installation kits are also available for the flush-mount version: M-WRG-II M/AP or M-WRG-II M/AP-KA

Control options

Like our comfort ventilation systems themselves, the control options leave nothing to be desired. Operation at the unit, via cable, bus systems, needs-based control via external wireless sensors or entirely wireless – the choice depends on what you need.

Wireless/radio

The Meltem app

Convenient operation of M-WRG-II and M-WRG ventilation units. Offers maximum flexibility with respect to all the control options.

Wireless/radio

4-way wireless pushbutton switch

With LED feedback for wireless operation of the ventilation unit.

The wireless pushbutton switch is ideal for retrospective installation or for barrier-free living.

Wireless/radio

External wireless sensors

Control unit with 5 ventilation levels/programs including CO₂ sensor for on-demand operation of the ventilation units.
Allows the sensor to be arranged flexibly within the room (230 V connection required) or can be retrofitted for units without sensors.

Wireless/radio

Wireless remote control

Convenient operation of up to six ventilation units in one room. This solution is useful for new builds and retrospective installation in renovations where time-consuming and expensive cable runs need to be avoided as far as possible.

Via cable

InControl pushbutton sensor

Convenient buttons and ease of use for up to five M-WRG-II P-T/E-T or M-WRG-S/Z-T units in one room. Fixed values for humidity and CO₂. Hard-wired solution for new builds.

Central control

Bus systems

Central operation of decentral ventilation units using a bus system is an especially appealing option for larger new builds (retirement homes, student dorms, hotels, etc.). From a central location, the user can monitor, set, configure, and even perform remote maintenance on the units.

Via control panel

Operation at the unit

The base version of the ventilation unit has 5 ventilation levels/programs that can be set at the control panel on the left side of the unit. The integrated LEDs in the buttons indicate when the filter has to be changed or there is a fault, among other things.

JUST RIGHT FOR YOUR BUILD

Applications

Our M-WRG-II comfort ventilation system is a real allrounder. Single- or multi-room apartments, residential buildings, dorms, hotels, office, and much more. The M-WRG-II is the efficient solution. Thanks to the multi-room solution, even interior bathrooms can be connected and ventilated.

Unit options

When you decide to go with our comfort ventilation units, there are additional unit options to choose from.

The ventilation levels are pre-set to standard values at the factory. Customers can request to change these settings to individualise their unit. This option has to be activated at the factory.

This option deactivates the ventilation unit’s mains switch. The user can only control the unit’s ventilation levels/programs. The customer has to ensure that the ventilation unit(s) can be powered off by some other means (e.g. fuse box in apartment/house). This option can only be activated at the factory.

This option allows a minimum ventilation level according to DIN 18017-3. From 8 AM to 20 PM, the unit ventilates at 40 m3/h, dropping to 20 m3/h between 8 PM and 8 AM. This function is activated at the factory, cannot be switched off by the user and has priority over all other settings. It includes the deactivated mains switch so that the user cannot simply turn off the unit (unit can be switched off by the customer at the fuse box).

Please note:

  • This option results in a different button configuration on the control unit: button 1, 2, 3, (4): 20, 40, 60, (80) m3/h.
  • This option is only available in combination with M-WRG-II O/VOC-AUL!

This option is used to set fixed minimum ventilation levels for day and night. The function is activated at the factory and cannot be switched off by the user, who can only set higher ventilation levels. A humidity program that runs in the background increases the airflow as required. The option includes the deactivated mains switch so that the user cannot simply turn off the unit (unit can be switched off by the customer at the fuse box).
This option results in a different button configuration on the control unit: button 1, 2, 3, (4): 20, 40, 60, (80) m3/h.
It is possible to combine this option with the wireless humidity or CO2 sensor.

Please note:

  • This option is only available in combination with M-WRG-II units with humidity and/or CO2 control (except types -S 485, -TF, -TFC).
  • This option has to be activated at the factory.

The ventilation unit is equipped with a VOC sensor for monitoring the outdoor air quality. In combination with the ‘Automatic mode’ ventilation program, the unit temporarily reduces the supply air if the threshold for volatile organic contaminants (compounds from biological decomposition processes, motor traffic exhaust fumes, by-products from industrial and commercial operations) is exceeded (1,500 ppm).
This option is only available for units with a CO2 sensor (M-WRG-II …-FC). It has to be installed at the factory. This option is only available in combination with an M-WRG-II O/MVS unit.

With this option, the unit is equipped with a ‘Unit OFF’ input and a potential-free error message output.

The input can be used to connect a smoke detector or a window contact, for example, to switch off the unit if there is smoke or a window is opened.

The error message output can be used, for example, to report the unit’s operating status to a central location. This option has to be installed at the factory.
