Air duct system from Meltem integrated into the facade
Effective duct routing for new builds and renovation projects
Visual appearance is an increasingly important consideration when installing ventilation systems, alongside the structural and financial aspects. In renovation work, if the ventilation system needs to be as invisible as possible, Meltem now offers a new facade-integrated duct routing for installing the comfort ventilation units – the supply and extract air ducts are embedded in the external wall insulation system.
This innovation is a cost-effective solution for retrospectively connecting additional rooms to an individual comfort ventilation unit with relatively minor installation work. While it is suitable for new builds, it is also ideal for retrofitting during renovation work to improve energy efficiency. The supply air and extract air ducting is routed inside the external wall insulation system (EWIS) while the insulation is being fitted into the facade.
This allows further rooms to be retrospectively connected to the ventilation unit, even under difficult structural conditions. In this way the installation of a multi-room solution can be integrated quickly, simply and cost-effectively into an existing renovation schedule.
The visible air duct systems inside the building or the panelling that would otherwise be needed in a retrofit are no longer required. This greatly benefits the visual appearance of the interior. The removal of extract air or introduction of supply air takes place in the relevant rooms via elegant poppet valves in the wall.
