Meltem comfort ventilation can be integrated into building management systems
Smart ventilation solutions for building automation
In large properties, decentralised ventilation units are now incorporated into the HVAC system and its central controller as standard. Energy requirements can thus be reduced by regulating individual rooms on demand. As digitisation progresses, increasing numbers of home owners are embracing smart home solutions so as to benefit from the associated increased comfort. Meltem has the right installation variant for every application.
The Meltem M-WRG-II and M-WRG comfort ventilation units can be fully integrated into commonly used building management systems, such as KNX, Loxone, Home Assistant, ioBroker and other Modbus-compatible systems. Communication takes place via a Modbus-RTU interface, which is supported by almost all leading building management system manufacturers.
This integration ensures that all relevant comfort ventilation functions can be controlled, including operating modes such as automatic, ventilation burst, humidity control, fan levels and timer programs. CO₂ or humidity level-based automatic functions, plus status and error monitoring – such as the filter status – can also be automated in this way. Central control by light switch, app, schedule or scene control is also possible and can be combined with other facilities such as heating or presence detection.
Every conceivable scenario can be implemented in this way – from smart home to smart building. In larger buildings – such as hotels, office buildings, residential homes or public establishments – integration via conventional building management systems is preferred. Here, facility managers can access all the information centrally and achieve energy-efficient automation. On the other hand, in smaller building units such as detached or semi-detached houses, surgeries or small commercial units, it is sufficient to simply incorporate the comfort ventilation via home assistant systems (smart home solutions) together with the lighting, heating, shutters or coffee machine (Modbus interface required).
